  • What are the race timings?
    Due to high demand and the number of runners the 10K will start at 0900 and the Half Marathon at 0910. There will be a cut-off time of 3 hours for the half marathon, ( our wonderful volunteers will have done their bit and would like to get home)!
  • Where is the Start/ Finish line located?
    Starting and finishing at the iconic Greenham Control Tower. Everything will be signed on the day.
  • What is the minimum age limit for each event?
    Minimum age for the 10K is 16 as advised by English Athletics. Entrants must be accompanied by an adult either running or spectating. Minimum age for the Half Marathon is 18.
  • Will there be car parking available?
    You can park at any of the Greenham Common car parks. The Control Tower has its own. Parking is free in each of the car parks. There are also, 50 spaces at Pigeons Farm Road by the John W Mello football field (postcode Rg19 8xg) allowing a 15-minute jog to the start line. If coming from the East of Newbury, there is parking along Old Thornford Road ( Postcode Rg19 8eu) Allow 15 15-minute jog to the start line. If Coming from the South of Newbury we have 76 spaces reserved in the Greenham Business Park ( Rg19 6hn) please follow the car park signage once in the Business park. Allow a 15-minute Jog to the start line. As we’re a sustainable event, we encourage all runners to, Walk, Cycle, and Car Share where possible.
  • Is there a bag drop facility?
    Yes, runners can store their bags at the registration tent but do so at their own risk, so no valuables please!
  • What type of run is the course?
    The course is a trail run, mostly made up of gravel and woodland paths. The Half Marathon is a two laps of the 10K course.
  • Is the course good for spectators and dogs?
    Yes absolutely! It is common land and is frequently used by dog walkers, cyclists, and runners. You may have to avoid the cattle and a few ponies along the way, but they are all friendly and used to mixing with the general public! It is advised to keep dogs on a lead on the common, particularly during the event. There are plenty of supporter viewing areas on the course and an excellent café in the Control tower. which is dog friendly.
  • Are there toilets available?
    Yes, there will be the usual portaloos (as with all running events), and there are toilets in the café.
  • What refreshment facilities will be available?
    There will be a charity tea/coffee tent raising money for our wonderful charity. The Control Tower café is also open to the public.
  • When will I get my race number?
    Race numbers will be available on the morning of the event. You can collect your number from one of our fantastic volunteers from the registration tent. Please allow yourself plenty of time for this as we expect there to be a large number of runners and spectators so it will be busy
  • Are there any discounts available?
    There is a discount for group bookings. Please see further information on our booking area.
  • Is a refund available if I can’t make the run?
    Unfortunately, there is no refund available on entries, but you can defer your place to the next event or pass your place over to a friend. In this event, please let us know in advance.
  • What time does the registration close, and can I sign up on the day?
    The registration tent will close at 08.45 so all runners can assemble ready for a 9am start. The prices are £30 for the Half Marathon and £25 for the 10k. Cash and cards accepted. We advise signing up online before the event, but if you do leave it to the day, please make sure you arrive early to give yourself time to register.
  • Are there shower facilities available?
    There are no shower facilities available at the event, although it may well rain!
  • Can I use headphones?
    The use of headphones is not advised as we require all our runners to be able to hear our marshals in an emergency.
  • Is there chip timing?
    As we are aiming to be a sustainable event, your chip timing will be in the form of a transponder tag that attaches to your ankle and will be removed and re used again for future races.
  • Will there be any prizes?
    As it is a charity event, we will have token prizes for the 1st 2nd and 3rd finishers in both male and female categories. And of course, all runners get one of our fantastic fully sustainable wooden medals at the finish line.
  • Can I volunteer or sponsor?
    Absolutely! We are always on the lookout for volunteers. Without these amazing people there would be no event. If you know of a company that may be interested in sponsoring this event, please do get in touch via the link.
  • How can I share information about the event?

  • Can I run with a buggy?
    Absolutely. This is a family event! We would only ask that you give priority to let the faster runners pass if required.
